My name is Sharon Turnbull. Besides my family, scrapbooking has become my passion! I started scrapbooking by accident back in 2001. I only meant to pick up 5 scrapbooks to put my kids mementos into. I wandered into a Scrapbook store and the rest, I guess you could say, is history! But, (there is always a but) I needed an easy way to get supplies as we lived a minimum of 2 hours from a scrapbook store. After exploring online for this easy way to get my supplies I found Close To My Heart!!! So I went looking for a consultant.
The first time I joined Close To My Heart. (Yes, I joined twice.) I did so for the discount and their versatility of product. I was a new hobbyist and wanted to save money. I let my "membership go when I went back to school, at dare I say it 50 (another long story). Scrapbooking got put on the back burner for a while. A few years later I found myself at home, on the farm, and looking to do something part time. I rejoined Close To My Heart again to get my supplies cheaper and invited ladies, in my farming community of Cereal Alberta, to join a club for scrapbooking. I am now a very active Close To My Heart Independent Maker. I love to teach my hobby and have an active monthly club. Did I say "I love it"?!!! When we can get together (Covid) I totally enjoy the girlfriend time and sharing the Close To My Heart experience and product.
My husband and I just semi-retired from the farm to Medicine Hat, our 5 children are grown, and no longer live at home. In fact, I now have almost 6 grandchildren. Most of our family lives some distance away so I find I have even more time to scrapbook, and prep for classes. (lol and with almost 6 new, beautiful subjects to scrapbook for, I am totally overwhelmed with ideas!) If you live in the Medicine Hat area you are welcome to stop by once I get organized in our new home, meet me, and see what Close To My Heart is all about. I am looking forward to meeting “like minded” ladies who may be interested in scrapbooking, card making, stamping, or making that item or two to decorate your home. I would also like to tell you why I chose Close To My Heart as my "parent
company" if you will , over any other company out there. It's
versatility. Remember, I said I walked into a scrapbook store and the
rest is history - well that is why I chose CTMH. Other online
companies offered the paper ect. but no "bling". I liked the
"bling" and it was taboo with another company. Their product
while beautiful did not offer the versatility as I call it. The second reason I
joined CTMH was I wanted the discount - mother of 5 school age people meant
looking for savings! Why did I pick CTMH when I joined the second time
and why do I stay? Same as above but a whole lot more! Family- this
company makes you feel like you are part of their family. They go the
extra mile every time I turn around to offer the maker and her customer just a
little bit "more". Caring Community - Not only does CTMH offer
an awesome business opportunity to those who want it but through a program
called "Operation Smile" CTMH and its Makers help to ensure children
in under privileged countries, through donations, get their cleft pallets
repaired and thus get the opportunity to thrive. Thirdly the friendships! I
have met and made friends with ladies from as far away as Australia.
Fourthly, I can think of no better way than through scrapbooking to preserve
and share my family's history - Especially now when everything digital can be
gone in a moment. Fifth - Did I mention versatility? CTMH offers
the new and experienced crafter opportunities to do what they love.
